We would love to thank all our divers for making 2016 such an amazing year.
We headed out diving 170+ days, logging a dive a day on average which is an impressive effort for Wellington diving. The year kicks off with our club divers staying over on Matiu-Somes Islands, exploring the wharves and then hunting tuatara at night.
We were out shore diving every week with students and fun divers alike and we get to explore a wide range of dive sites that all over something a little different, with sea horses and pipefish in the harbour and an amazing variety of marine life out on the South Coast.
We did (occassionally) manage to get out on the boat and Claire logged her first ever dives out at Mana Island early in the year. Divers also got to visit the F69 wreck, complete their Deep & Boat Adventure Dives and go cray hunting.
The dive club also managed to get away with trips to the Poor Knights, Tauranga to dive the Rena and enjoyed a tropical getaway in Niue!
As well as having fun underwater club divers made a huge difference participating in a range of underwater clean ups and in supporting the work of the Wellington Volunteer Coastguard.
So thanks again for joining in all the fun and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.
Stay safe and enjoy your holidays.
Best wishes from the Team at Dive HQ
