Come dive the Mikhail Lermontov one of New Zealand’s most iconic wrecks, just a quick hop over Cook Straight and staying at the Go Dive lodge.
We will be heading over the afternoon of Thursday 25th April (ANZAC Day) diving Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning coming back to Wellington on the 6pm ferry. This is the perfect opportunity to put all the skills that you have been practicing here in Wellington Harbour to good use (shit just got real). We can run some courses while we are over there such as your Deep or Wreck and Nitrox courses.
The MS Mikhail Lermontov rests where it sank in Gore Bay on the 16 February 1986, lying on its starboard side in depths reaching about 38 min. It is one of the biggest, easily accessible, diveable ship wrecks in the world. The dives range from an easy 12m depth at the top of the wreck, through to deep penetration and decompression dives to depths of 36m. It is possible to enter the wreck (with training), especially in the open public areas accessible from the port side windows near the top of the wreck.
Trip costs $895 + ferry
Nitrox available @ $15/12ltr
Plus the best part of the trip is NO cell phone coverage just nice peaceful diving with good people.
