Keen divers joined Tyla over the weekend for an Intro to Freediving Workshop in Wellington. Starting with learning the foundations of freediving safety, gear, breath-hold techniques and the buddy system, before heading into the water to put it all into practice.
The workshop also covered sustainable kaimoana harvesting, species awareness, and the importance of marine reserves.
It’s the start of a new month and a new season as we haed into Autumn hoping for more settled weather and more dives.
We have more dive courses, trips and club activities planned for the month ahead.
Octobers weather was a little wild so diving was quiet but we are planning more club trips, boat dives and other activities for our divers for November and 2026
June was busy but July promises to be better yet with PADI Women’s Dive Day events, the start of the scallop season and more diving opportunities and other club events to get you involved.
