Dive HQ’s Monthly Review – August

Dive Club Wellington Updates

It’s our 19th Birthday!
We first opened our doors on the 1st of August 2005. After diving and travelling the world for a number of years returning home and opening our own dive business was a bit of a shock.
We couldn’t have made it this far without the support and friendship of the local diving community so thank you everyone.

Last month was busy with a great turn out for our Ladies Night at Huia Pool with 12 women joining in the fun with a try dive or refreshing their skills. Our PADI Women’s Dive Day dive was in the rain but with spectacular visibility in Owhiro Bay. The next day we were in the harbour celebrating the start of the scallop season with a fun dive & BBQ with friends, dive buddies and whanau.

Birthday Party & Event Launch

We have cancelled our birthday dive tonight thanks to Wellington’s weather but will head out for dinner to celebrate instead.

We are also launching our biggest ever event – the Descent to Challenger Deep
This challenge will take us to the deepest known point of the world’s oceans. Divers will log their club dives and collectively we will reach 10,935m and fundraise $10, 935 for our chosen charities:
I am Hope Foundation
Wellington Volunteer Coastguard

We hope you will support our efforts, by diving, donating or participating in other events throughout the year. If you have some fundraising suggestions we would love to hear from you.

For more information on the event please read our blog and register.
